This is the only way I make bacon...at a low temperature for a longer period of time which helps to keep the oven clean. The roasting time will ultimately depend on how thick or thin the bacon is sliced so be ready to adjust accordingly.
Makes 1 Pound
Prepare the pan and oven:
Preheat the oven to 300°. Line an large rimmed baking sheet with foil and allow for a 1 to 2 inch overhang on each end.
Roast the bacon:
Lay each bacon slice on the pan trying not to overlap each piece. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until crispy.
Drain the bacon:
Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and drain. Let rest for 3 to 5 minutes and serve hot. Alternatively, let cool completely and chop as desired for a tasty garnish.
Notes: Only use bacon that was raised humanely, does not contain nitrates or nitrites, has no sugar added and has no hormones or antibiotics added ever.
