Chocolate Almond Protein Shake

I threw these ingredients together one morning and our forever protein shake was born. That ever-so-subtle flavor of coffee makes this the perfect morning drink, afternoon pick-me-up or late night dessert.

Ingredients
 Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk - 1 cup
 Organic Heavy Cream - 1 tbsp
 Chocolate Protein Powder - 1 scoop (see Notes)
 Maldon Salt Flakes - 1/2 tsp + more for serving
 Coffee Extract - 1 tsp
 Smooth Almond Butter - 2 tbsp (see Notes)
 Xanthan Gum - 1/4 tsp
 Ice - 2 cups
 Cacao Nibs
 Whipped Cream (optional)
Special Equipment
 High Powered Blender

Prepare the shake:
Add all of the ingredients minus the cacao nibs and whipped cream to the blender jar, secure the lid and blend on high until smooth.

Serve the shake:
Pour into 2 insulated glasses and sprinkle some cacao nibs and salt flakes on top along with maybe a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve with a sundae spoon or straw and enjoy!
